C2 Integration for Multi-Sensor Drone Detection: API, Data and Governance
A project-level guide to integrating passive multi-sensor drone-detection information into command-and-control environments through defined interfaces, governed data, and accountable review. It explains architecture and assurance concepts without operational procedures, thresholds, algorithms, targeting, signal control, navigation manipulation, intervention guidance, or performance claims.
INFORMATION & PROJECT-GOVERNANCE CONTEXT / CONCEPTUAL SCENE
Put technology questions back into an authorised, reviewable, and verifiable project context.
This conceptual scene helps explain conditional information, protected services, human review, and written validation. It is not a deployment or field-outcome claim.

PROJECT QUESTION / 01
1. Define the C2 integration boundary and project outcomes
Begin by agreeing what the C2 layer is expected to receive, represent, distribute, and record. A suitable boundary can include passive information such as sensor observations, time references, source identity, confidence descriptors, health state, and provenance. It should distinguish observation from interpretation and interpretation from any authorised review. Project documentation should name system owners, interface owners, data stewards, and qualified accountable personnel, while stating what the integration does not do. Scope, assumptions, dependencies, retention needs, and local requirements should be captured in writing before implementation.
INFORMATION & UNCERTAINTY / 02
2. Design API contracts for vendor-neutral interoperability
An API contract should describe message purpose, schema version, required and optional fields, timestamps, coordinate reference conventions, units, identifiers, error handling, availability expectations, and change-control rules. The contract should support additive evolution and clear rejection of malformed or ambiguous data. Treat sensor adapters and the C2 platform as separate responsibilities: an adapter normalises source information, while the C2 layer presents governed information to authorised users and connected systems. Written validation should cover conformance, authentication and authorisation, audit events, data minimisation, and safe offsets between systems so that clock, schema, or state differences are not silently treated as facts.
INTERFACES & GOVERNANCE / 03
3. Govern data quality, provenance, and human review
Multi-sensor integration is a data-governance project as much as a connectivity project. Each record should retain provenance sufficient to understand which source produced it, when it was received, how it was transformed, and whether it remains current. C2 displays should make uncertainty, stale state, missing fields, and conflicting observations visible rather than presenting them as certainty. Review states and permissions should be explicit, with authorised review performed by qualified accountable personnel under documented policy. Validation should be risk-based and written: test representative data conditions, failure and recovery states, access controls, auditability, privacy constraints, and retention or deletion rules. Do not infer operational conclusions from an API status alone.
VALIDATION & LIFECYCLE / 04
4. Establish lifecycle assurance, local compliance, and change control
A deployable integration needs an assurance plan spanning design, acceptance, release, operation, and retirement. Define approval gates for interface changes, firmware or software changes, new data sources, and changes to user roles. Maintain versioned schemas, configuration records, test evidence, incident records, and decision logs. Review the design against applicable aviation, radio, privacy, cybersecurity, procurement, export, and site requirements; the relevant obligations vary by jurisdiction and use case. Any safety-sensitive or consequential interpretation should remain subject to local requirements, written validation, and accountable human review. New Ark can present integration as an information and governance capability, not as a promise of detection coverage or a substitute for local authorisation.
TECHNICAL & COMPLIANCE BOUNDARY / 05
This guide is an educational project reference—not an operating, deployment, integration, or performance instruction.
01Availability and interpretation of acoustic, RF, radar, EO/IR, visual, and other information depend on site conditions, environment, data quality, protected services, permissions, privacy, and accountable review. This page does not promise detection, identification, classification, location assessment, tracking, availability, safety, non-interference, or risk outcomes.
02Any equipment, interface, data handling, industrial-system connection, spectrum-related arrangement, aviation coordination, or later project decision requires appropriate authority, engineering review, qualified personnel, and written scope.
03The public guide does not provide target selection, sensor positioning, thresholds, algorithms, execution sequences, signal control, interference, navigation manipulation, or response methods.
